EAGLE Naay - House of EAGLE
EAGLE's
office is named "EAGLE Naay", or "House of the Eagle". It officially
opened in a special ceremony in March, 2000. We are privileged to
operate on the Semiahmoo Indian Reserve. Our offices face the ocean and
are enclosed in green - as a constant reminder of the focus of our work
and to maintain our connection with the earth and sea.
Haida artist Robert Davidson built EAGLE Naay in 2000, working with local architect Paul Rust, to assist EAGLE with growing into a self-sufficient organization. EAGLE Naay is modeled after Semiahmoo traditional house structures, to honour the spirits of the Semiahmoo land. EAGLE is grateful to be in a space that connects us with our ancestors through the symbolic and spiritual connection with the beautiful architecture of our ancestors.
